On the Tee: Mind Free vs Too Many Thoughts

A golfer in a same tee time several times, asked me how my game went. I told me I am having a trouble to change my driver swing. He was surprised saying “ your driver shots are alway in fairway and good, why do you want to change?” I used to be on tee box without any thoughts and hit 150 yard straight. Short but straight. My 3 wood has longer distances a lot of times. That is one of reasons I can lower my scores. My game will stay still like this forever, if I am not able to make my ball on green with two strokes in par 4s.

Things are different now. Since I was really into my driver downswing and impact, I couldn’t hit ball straight anymore. On the tee box, starting set up, I have too many thoughts. I’v learned so many tips through youtube lessons and reminded many skills. My body doesn’t remember my swing I practiced for hours during last couple of days. I made only three straight driver shots during the round. Those three shots were not as good as I felt during my practice.

I still see some positive facts that I at least feel how I should swing and my distance gets better. I just need to be patient and practice more until I used to be a new swing. I know it can take months to have a little addition on my swing. No problem. I have years to play this game.
