So gorgeous! Beautiful course, architecture, players, nature, colors, etc. The Masters is a perfect way to enjoy all aspects of art in golf. I used to focus only on players’ games and scores during previous Masters. This year, I couldn’t take my eyes off screen enjoying the beauty of golf. Now being a patron at Masters is on my to-do list.
I noticed today I kept pulling to left during follow-through. I watched some of recent videos, but noticed some of swings follow through a wrong path to miss shots.
When I miss shots, follow-through probably looks like this. My swing from yesterday’s video.
My head position on address is the first one. The instructor on the golf lesson video says it is proper to look down the ball, not look at the ball to reduce head drop. Right chin and spine angle. Wow. How come I’ve never thought about this?
We know the meaning of an athlete’s tears with a throphy. That tells how much they’ve gone through to reach there. Just a beautiful moment I like to watch. Congrats, Carlos!
I am getting to know how to make a good distance during rounds. I need to increase my consistency and accuracy to reach a green by two strokes on 350 yard par 4. Sometimes I go blank during a round.
I’ve used Aroma driving range in LA for years. Recent months are the busiest I’ve seen. They have 60 stalls to practice, but most of them are full in weekday afternoon. Most stalls used to be vacant one year ago.
The difference of my putting between now and a few months ago is my expectation when I see my ball on green. When I saw a ball 10 feet from a hole, I just expected I would have two putts and try not to make three putts. Now, I think myself I can make it with one putt. Of course, most of times I miss a 10 foot putt, but I am more likely to make that putt than I was a few month ago.
Mostly I write about practicing my swing, but actually I spend as much time on putting practice. Everyday, I practice 150 5-foot putts on my putting mat at home. I don’t practice my swing everyday, but I don’t miss my putting practice everyday. Now when I practice 150 5-foot putts at home, I am able to make all putts in the hole. I got my know-how to make a ball roll straight. Still, I will do this as my daily routine.
On green at a golf course, things are different with breaks and slopes. I know I am still not good at putting, but I like my putting strokes. If I make one putt I am very happy with during play, my time on practice is worthy. At least, my putting is not as stressful as I used to be and it is improving.
Based on my record from 137 rounds for two years. I like to look at numbers on my SwingU app.
Yeah! I made two birdies today and scored + 13. My best score in this course. My driver shots were just ok… 150 to 170 yards, but straight. Just focused on arm and head positions. 34 putts. Mostly, I didn’t make any terrible mistakes lossing many strokes.
Another player asked how I could play so well and I said ‘I am just lucky today.’ He said ‘you can’t be lucky everytime.’ But the real answer is ‘more practice makes more lucky days.’
Hole # 2 and # 11 are par 5 for ladies, but this app didn’t have choices for ladies. I just scored as pars on these hole. Par 73, + 13 scored 86.
