Wow! I didn’t realize how fun to play with my friends before. I was finally ready to see my friends and played with them for the first time during this pandamic. Fun and happy! We will have a regular round twice a month again.

My body finally figured out how to shallow driver. That is a big discovery and change for my driver swing. Still, I need a lot of practice to make this swing mine during a round. Today, I had five great driver shots to the distances I’ve never reached before at Industry Hills golf course. I only practiced my driver swing with this new swing, so I had a lot of troubles when I used other clubs. Let’s be patient and practice.

You can’t see fairway at the 18th tee box. Once Bryson DeChambeau climbed the hill and found out his ball was on the fairway, he delightly said “Yeah, Fairway!” and made a birdie. His caddie and I only heard that, but somehow that was very impressive to me. He missed all fairways for the first 8 holes (he started back9) and that was his first driver shot on fairway by far.

Most players in that situation probably lost mind and gave up game for the day. but he kept trying. His positiveness at 18th hole influenced his remaining game, and no bogeys and four birdies during the last 10 holes. He seemed to find his swing mechanic during a round. I also read an article that he stayed last yesterday at driving range. I learned hard work and positiveness from this great athlete today.

Nobody expected Bryson, Rory and Justin would miss first cut at Riviera today. But anything can happen in golf, especially at Riviera. Disappointed not to be able to see my favorite players, but glad to see them Thursday and Friday this year. Without spectators, I was able to see most players’ swings and their reactions.

In my personal view, the main reasons are Bryson was still trying to adjust his new swing, Rory seemed losing focus on his game and Justin was just angry and frustrated all the tjme. A lot of news headlines are Rory missed his first cut in 2 years. Once in a two year, he lost his control on all clubs: driver, woods, wedge and putting at the same time. Today was the day. Anyway, the real 2021 hasn’t yet started for them. Just hope they come back next year including Tiger and fans.

This is my fourth year as a volunteer at Genesis Invitational. A lot of parts are very different from the past years. Safety protocols and no spectators. I am at 18th hole from Wed. to Sat. 4 days. Still very excited to be in the event.

Only time heals everything. I could’t play golf for weeks, but I need to get over this sadness and get back to my normal self. I started golfing and practicing again. Time to move on.

My golf life has been changed totally since my husband, David, started golf. I can’t focus on my games while playing witb him. I became his caddy. He is a pure beginner. He asks which club to use on each shot and misses most of shots. Also, his balls go everywhere, so I need to find them to keep paces with other groups. He doesn’t want to wait while I am thinking about my shots. I need to teach all rules and manners. My scores become so high with a lot of missed shots and putts. Can’t focus…Oh….

Still, I am so happy to be able to play golf with my husband. He is getting better. A lot improved comparing with one month ago. He is a long hitter, so he has distances to be able to reach all par 4 by two shots. He is very focused. Mostly, he likes to learn and play golf. I think he will probably catch up me less than three years. Dreaming to take a golf trip with family.

David started golfing one month ago because of LA city’s same household members in a group rule. The LA city stupid restriction has been lifted in less than two weeks. Now I can book as a single player as I used to. But I take him to a golf course twice a week. My husband doesn’t feel comfortable playing with strangers, so now we take our kids to the course to make a foursome. Good activities for kids during this quarantine.

Now my son plays a little golf. That makes me forget about my golf for now. Just so happy to be with them in a golf course.

Sometimes I forget how to swing during a round and try many different ways to hit decent balls. Let’s focus on a good contact on a ball.

No one, (not even Koreans) expected A Lim Kim would win the US Open today. With harsh conditions, most players looked so frustrated and tensed, except A Lim Kim. She looked very relaxed.

That is her style. I’ve watched her play many times at KLPGA. She was not that impressive. Mostly, she didn’t look competitive. I remember once she said she is always so excited to come to golf courses. She is the type of players who enjoy golf as a game. That seemed the key for today’s win.

She wasn’t one of my favorite players. It looked her over-friendly and over acting personality sometimes bothered some players. I didn’t like her swing, either. But her swing looked so beautiful today. She must have changed her swing since I last remembered. Also, a lot calmer than usual. What a great play today! 10th Korean winner for last 16 year US Open.
